If you follow mainstream media, it’s possible that you are the target of a brainwashing tool developed to get everyone on the same page regarding specific events. You may have seen this video, where members of the media parrot, word for word, a message that “someone” wants to get out.

Appalling, isn’t it?

It would be nice to think that this is a one-off, but really, it’s not. It’s propaganda 101. Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi granddaddy of propaganda, was credited with the following statement:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Gee. Sound familiar?

What is the Trusted News Initiative?

There’s a troubling group of media behemoths from around the world who have joined forces to get out coordinated messages, as you saw in the video above. Here’s some more information, right from the horse’s mouth.

The Trusted News Initiative is a partnership, founded by the BBC, that includes organisations from around the globe including; AP, AFP, BBC, CBC/Radio-Canada, European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Financial Times, Information Futures Lab, Google/YouTube, The Hindu, The Nation Media Group, Meta, Microsoft, Thomson Reuters, Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Twitter, The Washington Post, Kompas – Indonesia, Dawn – Pakistan, Indian Express, NDTV – India, ABC – Australia, SBS – Australia, NHK – Japan.

TNI members work together to build audience trust and to find solutions to tackle challenges of disinformation. By including media organisations and social media platforms, it is the only forum in the world of its kind designed to take on disinformation in real time.

And what do these folks do? According to the webpage referenced above:

  • Fast alert against the most harmful disinformation
  • Discuss trends
  • Media education and shared learnings
  • Engineering solutions

It sounds kind of innocuous in those bullet points, but it’s far from innocent. This is the height of propaganda, organized voices shouting down anyone who dissents. And if the shouting doesn’t work, they’ll coordinate attacks to ruin the dissenter’s life.

Just ask Russell Brand.

The mainstream media regularly bands together to fight the enemy – which, according to Russell Brand, is the independent media.

Brand has recently been a target of an all-out assault in the media. It’s a trial by Twitter, internet kangaroo court, and social media justice when you end up in the crosshairs, as he has found out.

Now, I can’t tell you whether or not Brand did all the horrible things of which he’s accused. He was formerly a drug addict, he’s a huge celebrity, and a lot of people with fame and power behave badly. Perhaps he did. But every accused person deserves to be able to defend themselves. They deserve a trial before they’re found guilty and Brand isn’t getting that.

What is very clear is that the media is digging up every bad action the man has ever committed, every iffy joke, every uncomfortable situation that Brand has committed in his entire life and putting it out there for the world to see. He’s lost income, and they’re striving to destroy his reputation as quickly as possible.

And why?

Because Brand is neither a liberal leftist nor a right-wing conservative. He is a popular voice from somewhere in the middle who has called out the media, governments, and Big Pharma on an incredibly regular basis. And people are listening. He’s got hundreds of thousands of dedicated listeners, and his videos get millions of views.

And he’s still going.

Here’s why you can’t actually trust members of the Trusted News Initiative.

The video below is an incredibly important one. It’s about the Trusted News Initiative and why we probably shouldn’t actually trust anyone who is a part of it.

What do you think?

Personally, I feel terribly sorry for Brand and his wife (who happens to be pregnant with their third child.) I know what it’s like to be targeted on a comparatively tiny level. But in his case, the media is out to utterly destroy his whole life. It’s a sickening feeling to see the lies about you published by supposedly “credible sources.”

Do you believe that the Trusted News Initiative is to be…well…trusted? Were you familiar with this organization? Do you follow mainstream media? What sources do you rely on for information? And finally, what do you think about the attacks on Russell Brand?

Let’s discuss it in the comments section.

  • Anyone who is censored or silenced in any way?? I will go out of my way to find them and see what they have to say.

I use censorship to see who I should be listening to.

  • This goes far beyond simply a bias or slanted “news”, which is what we’ve been getting for a long time. I’ve seen many comments about wishing America would get back to the days of Walter Cronkite. Well, Uncle Walt wasn’t in the middle or fair or unbiased. He was clearly a Democrat and convinced America we lost the Tet Offensive. Except we didn’t.

I collect old magazines. Our younger son gave me the complete set of Newsweek Magazines from 1967. Reading them, I’ve been appalled at the bias. Recently, I was reading a 1969 issue of The Saturday Evening Post, which had a reputation as being conservative. There was NOTHING conservative about it. There was a lengthy article on Richard Nixon, which was essentially a hit piece. He hadn’t been in office more than a couple of months.

Daisy’s article about this – and thanks for the heads up – is confirmation of what I’ve been sensing about the “news”, but didn’t know the details. I don’t trust anything they say.

    • You may wish to consider carefully the MSM of the Vietnam War period as well. I’ve worked on a number of scholarly books about that era and Nixon, a Republican, very much influenced what the media told the public about the war. He and Kissinger lied like cheap Persian rugs to keep our troops over there because he didn’t want to lose face by losing. We lost, as evidenced by the fall of Saigon. While General Westmoreland was playing chess, a game of attrition, General Giap was playing go, a game of strategy. Giap won. And yes, they had Chinese backing. That part was amplified in the media of the time while American losses and atrocities were minimized or completely left out. So, you might want to be careful of the MSM from that period as well. You also might want to look up the concept of confirmation bias. Just because it’s what you want to hear doesn’t make it true.

  • I don’t listen to any mainstream media. None. Period. Nothing they say is actually journalism. They don’t know the meaning of the word. All they do is regurgitate what they are told by their handlers. They all say the same thing in every “news”cast. I get news as it happens. BTW, have you heard that we need an organized militia? • Dear Daisy, we had our own version in Venezuela back in the 90s…when there was a supposed “democracy”. They called it “Law for Truthful Information”. This twisted aberration is totally contrary to what freedom of speech is.

  • The history of controlling the media for political gain (and often at the cost of American lives) goes a lot earlier than this article covers. Some examples:

During the 9/11 disaster some of the events were covered by the British BBC a few minutes before they actually happened. In addition … WTC 7 was never hit by an aircraft but collapsed precisely onto its own footprint at 5:20pm that afternoon — something that would have taken trained demolition experts a couple of months to set up correctly.

During Lyndon Johnson’s address to the US Congress asking for war in Vietnam, not once did he mention that his declaration for war had been drafted several months before, and that no attack whatsoever had taken place in the Gulf of Tonkin. That fact was confirmed many years later when war hero Admiral James Stockdale (chosen as Ross Perot’s VP running mate) stated that he had been there in the Gulf of Tonkin at the time of Johnson’s alleged attack claim and that no attack whatsoever took place.

After WWII the War Department was renamed the Department of Defense and in 1949 its first secretary James Forrestal was taken to the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. Media reports even today claim that he was suffering from extreme depression. However he told his brother that he didn’t expect to get out of there alive. The day before he was scheduled to be released into his brother’s custody he went out a 16th floor window to his death. The official media story was that he committed suicide but failed to mention the handwritten suicide note found in his room was created by another person’s handwriting.

The “surprise” attack by Japan at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 dragged America forcibly into World War II. Media reports at that time and for many years after did not dare to mention that FDR had been working feverishly for two years in trying to figure out how to sucker Japan into a surprise attack — while knowing full well that Japan had destroyed most of the Russian fleet in such an attack at Port Arthur in 1904. The 2000 copyrighted book “Day of Deceit” by Robert B. Stinnett covers the real history including FDR’s treachery the lamestream media dared not touch.

In late 1917 Rockefeller’s medical people took advantage of a 1911 mandatory vaccination program adopted by the US army and sold a poorly tested meningitis vaccine to the army first at Ft. Riley, Kansas. In the spring of 1918 those GIs immediately began to get sick. That didn’t stop the sale of that vaccine to many more GIs as well as to several other countries. As the sickness mutated multiple times the global death count from it eventually grew to somewhere between 50 and 100 million people — including more German soldiers than died from combat. Censorship was extreme in the media of all countries involved in WW1. However Spain was not involved and so early reports of the sickness and deaths from that vaccine first appeared in newspapers in Spain. That gave the Woodrow Wilson government (that was terrified of the Rockefellers) the perfect cover excuse to falsely label the disease as the mysterious “Spanish Flu” of unknown origin — a lie which the US government maintains to this day. Little wonder then that the Rockefellers did a 2010 study on pandemics and their possibilities … given their up close experience with such going all the way back to the WW1 era.

In 1915 the passenger liner Lusitania was scheduled to sail from New York to Liverpool, England. German intelligence had learned that it was secretly carrying internationally illegal war munitions that Germany would have to destroy. So Germany tried to minimize the number of Americans who would die in such an attack by warning them in newspaper ads paid for in some 30 or so US newspapers. The utterly corrupt Woodrow Wilson administration (put in office by secret British money to buy the 1912 election so Wilson could be counted on to involve America on England’s side in the coming European civil war) managed to get all but about two or three of those ads shut down. The goal was obviously to maximize the number of American deaths in the coming attack on the Lusitania. When a German U-boat sank it on May 7, 1915 … 123 American passengers went to the bottom. FDR was an assistant secretary to Wilson’s navy and could very well have learned his lesson (for Pearl Harbor decades later) that a lot more Americans need to die to extract a declaration of war from the congress.

So controlling the media for political advantage even at the expense of many American lives has a long and disgusting history of political payoffs — even to this present day when the lies about Covid-19 origin, remedies, and vaccine injuries and deaths still run rampant.

PS. If you run an online search for the father of American propaganda you’ll pull up many articles giving credit to Edward Bernays (a nephew of Freud).

  • I have not read any of Russell Brand’s books but it has been reported that he wrote that he is ashamed of the way he lived previously including how he treated women. The news is no revelation it is clearly to discredit him. If we are honest about our shortcomings and own our sins then ‘the devil’s’ arrows are broken before they leave the quiver. Like the ESG, those who score low might just be the people we need to associate with. David who lived with outlaws in the cave of Adullum to avoid King Saul, is a great example.

  • ‘Misinformation’ is true, but they say it is not. ‘Malinformation’ is true, but doesn’t conform to the so-called ‘government’s’ narrative.

  • The attack on Brand reminds me very much of what was done to Julian Assange.
If they attack you so viscously, it means you must be right over the target…

  • Russell Brand may have done, what he is accused of, by those women, in his drug addict days. That doesn’t mean it’s okay to take away his right to publish on social media and his revenue. There is complete garbage on U Tube and no one checks everyone out.The fact that BBC is coming after him, like this, is highly suspicious. The BBC has tolerated and covered up sexual misconduct by associates for a very long time.

  • I fear the most censored people are either dead or in one of the many human body banks (i.e. prison industrial complex, rest homes, psych wards), or are subjected to full blown character assignations.

  • Russel Brand, no idea.
Would need to see all the evidence in a court of law rather than social media to make a judgement. He does have the right to due process and to face his accusers.

TNI. Never fails. A small group of usually over educated types think they know better than the rest, or knows what is best for everyone else and then tries to impose their views on the rest of us. Might get some traction, but history shows people get fed up with these self-appointed yahoos and it generally does not end well for them.

  • The mainstream media is the enemy of the people and a threat to democracy.
    Excellent article Daisy. Thank You.

  • The saying “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” in the case of the msm and Russel Brand becomes
“The friend of my enemy is my enemy”

The msm viciously attacking Russel Brand tells you they consider him a threat and therefore worth listening to.
