Facing the zombie apocalypse as a super-wealthy person sure is different than it is for the rest of us mere mortals. While most of us would be ecstatically happy with a homemade bunker on the back 40 of our property
, these luxury bunker apartments in a little village in Germany take survival retreats to a whole new level.
Originally, the 76 acre facility was built by the Soviets during the Cold War, for use as a military equipment storage facility, but due to regulations about the storage of ammunition, they were unable to continue with their plans. It was auctioned off by the German government and purchased by an investor.
California entrepreneur Robert Vicinio turned it into a facility called Vivos One, complete with 227,904 square feet of blast-proof luxury living space and more than 3 miles of tunnels. 34 “high net worth” families will be able to purchase one of the 2500 square foot residences where they can ride out the apocalypse in style.
Here’s a little tour.
The plan is for the residents of the bunker to make their ways to Rothenstein, Germany when a crisis is imminent. They will fly to nearby airports and will then be brought to the facility by either helicopter or train. (It has its own helicopter and railway services.)
It has been hardened to withstand any of the following epic disasters:
- A close range nuclear blast
- A direct airplane crash
- Biological or chemical events
- Shock waves
- Earthquakes
- Tsunamis
- Electro-magnetic pulses
- Armed attacks
Applicants must have special skills
Not just any rich person can get in. To purchase one of the 2500 square foot apartments, not only must you be able to afford the hefty price tag, but you have to bring some kind of skill to the table. The application asks about your areas of expertise, and also has an essay section for applicants to explain why they’d be an asset to the community.

Practically speaking, the facility is very well equipped with the essentials for survival, and that’s before you even get to the luxury add-ons. If your application is accepted and you can afford the undisclosed but presumably hefty price tag, here are some of the features you can enjoy in the 1.1 billion dollar complex:

- Water treatment facility and deep water wells
- Air filtration and cooling systems
- A swimming pool
- A theater
- A state of the art gym
- A collection of zoological species
- An artifact and treasure archive

Survival for the rest of us
Of course, there are some practical concerns here. First of all, we don’t know when disaster will strike. While there are always warning signs, getting across the globe to a little village in Germany before the world blows up could be a difficult trip, even for people with a private plane.
Then there’s the price tag, which puts even Vivos’ most moderately priced retreat far out of our range. This doesn’t mean that you can’t survive the apocalypse unscathed. I figure those of us who live a prepared lifestyle on a day-to-day basis are practicing the skills we need to get through all but the most devastating disasters.
While a state of the art facility that someone else set up might be nice, for the practical, non-rich folks among us, the rest of us must look at options that are a bit more down to earth. This might include turning your home into your retreat or putting a self-designed shelter on some nearby property.
These books provide some realistic options for creating a retreat on an ordinary budget – that you can put in a location you can actually get to should disaster strike. It’s very important to remember that you can hunker down in your own home through many different types of scenarios.

While a state of the art facility is fun to look at and daydream about, a place you can actually get to for shelter is going to beat something on the other side of the world every time.
Can you imagine spending all that money and then not being able to get to the bunker? It doesn’t seem like the best move. I think each person has to prepare for themselves and their family. The one person you can depend on is yourself. I can’t even picture spending that kind of money.
If there are earthquakes, there has NEVER been one that it could be tested on- that that will utter crushed them to a flat pancake.
And if not, a flood that will drown them and the water seep into the oxygen tubes.
But for sure, one thing, the rich will NEVER escape are the mutations of the deadly viruses, the Elite, themselves, have invented and thrown at us. THe micro-viruses that will certainly, enter into these bunkers, one way or the other.

I have five of the skills listed, but I have no intention of living underground like a sewer rat. In addition, there is no such thing as like minded people, no matter who keeps on harping on it. In a crisis, some of the scenarios will end up looking like the Twilight Zone.
They can put all the money in the world, and Jesus will just laugh when he busts their little bunkers wide open. The ones who will be protected will be only those covered by his blood in salvation and protected by God himself.

Good, now I’ll know where to look when I bring a few thousand or more needing a place to stay.
Even better is ours will not be the first group to come; there will be endless numbers looking for these deposits in the ground. It’s not like they have something better to do; right?

My name is Jack Ruble and I live in Tucson Arizona right now, but I plan to move to Montana soon. I was wondering if you are building any sites in Montana especially away from the Air Force Base. If so would you please let me know where you are building and some of the requirements for persons to be a part of the build. I am looking fro a place to be when it does happen and I don’t think there will be a large amount of time for traveling to places to live in a shelter.

They believe that they can scoop up the last money and go into their shelters winners, to await the mass extinctions and come out winners and leaders.
They forget how determined we zombies can be to get to them. They think of us as mindless idiots but they know we will find a way into them. In the end if we go down we will make damn sure they go with us and far more painfully.
Blast proof not gas proof. Do some investigations and lets find out where all these Elites think they can hide so that we can smoke them out and take their stuff. They think they can destroy society and then hide? Heck no, not gonna happen. We are not our Great Grandparents who silently starved during the Great Depression. We will take what we need from those so called Elites who have robbed us of everything. Let’s see how far these Demons want to take this so we can go as far as we need to stop them.
